The Niagara was a sidewheel steamer built for passengers and freight. The steamer was built in Buffalo, NY in 1846. On September 24, 1856, a fire broke out aboard the Niagara whilst en route from Sheboygan to Port Washington. 60 people lost their lives in the fire because life jackets were not common aboard ships during this time period. The wreck now lies in 55 feet of water 8 miles northeast of Port Washington. The remnants of the boiler, walking beam, and paddle wheels remain. Many small artifacts, including fragments of dinnerware, can be located in the sand around the wreck.

The Northerner was an 81 foot two-masted schooner built in 1851 in Clayton, NY. She was lost November 29, 1868 when she foundered in a storm off Port Washington. Her scroll figure head is one of the more interesting features of the wreck. She currently rests in 135 feet of water, extremely intact.

The Mahoning was a 119 foot long brig built in 1847 in Black River, OH. She was lost on November 4th, 1864 while in tow to Milwaukee for repairs. She began to take on water and over-turned, throwing her steam pump to the starboard side of the wreckage. Two lives were lost. The wreck of the Mahoning currently rests in 50 feet of water. The most interesting features include an early-bow construction with scroll carved bow knee, windlass, anchors, and the steam pump (which is located not far from the main wreckage.) The wreck was recently located in 2005.
