Spearfishing Social & Friday Night Fish Fry

You've had fish on Fridays that has been caught by others. You might have had fish you've caught yourself. Now you can have fish that you have SPEARED yourself!

Join Diversions Scuba for a new take on the finest of Wisconsin traditions!
On the second Friday of each month, beginning in April and lasting until we can't get in the water anymore, Diversions will host a Spearfishing Social and Fish Fry.
Join us at 4 p.m. and head out to the Madison area lakes! According to DNR
regulations we can spear pan fish and rough fish in the Madison Lakes (with a
fishing license). If you want to spear carp, that's fine and encouraged as it
will clean them out of the local ecosystem, but the pan fish sound like better
eatin'! And, if no one spears any fish, we'll order a couple of pizzas and have
a good time anyway!

So why spear fish? Spearfishing is a more sustainable practice than line angling. Spearfishing, similar to hunting, allows you to select your target and take no more then you intend to use. Spearfishing allows the angler to select fish that are in abundance, which leads to a more sustainable ecosystem. In addition, you get to DIVE while you FISH...what could be better?
